November 8th EliteXC Cancelled

Sources are reporting that Pro Elite the parent company of EliteXC will officially close its doors for good Friday. The highly anticipated fight between Eddie Alverez and Nick Diaz has been cancelled and employs received notice of termination.

In the two years of operation, ProElite has racked up a reported 60 million in debt. The promotion had been looking for investors to keep it a float into next year, but with the economy in a down slide it was highly unlikely the promotion was going to raise the funds needed.

Although the CBS broadcast of EliteXC “Heat” had decent network ratings, its loss of Kimbo Slice as a main event fighter and the StandGate scandal proved to much for the struggling promotion.

go figure that elitexc would go out of business... all that hope in a fighter that can't fight in mma... oh well.... Kimbo is a one trick pony.... my question is where are all these fighters gonna go???? best bet is on Affliction than that will bomb and there all gonna come crawling to the ufc hoping for a chance to be on the ulitmate fighter show.... ha ha ha but i did want to see the alvares vs. diaz fight... oh yeah the best fighters in the world fight in the UFC... BJ. "the prodigy" Penn, George "Rush" St. Pierre, Anderson "spider" Silva, The whole light heavy weight division and The man RANDY " THE NATURAL" COUTURE.... RIP Elitexc

I dont think Affliction will fold like people hope or think, for one they have better investors and better fighters than Elite. I think Affliction will draw many good fighters. I dont support for UFC to be the only MMA organization.

I think that afflication will stand with UFC as long as they have good sponsors has it has right now as long as they have golden boy, donald trump and big names like this backing them they will be alright but i don't see them beating the ufc in ppv buys unless they aquire more talent then just there heavyweight division and seams that is were all there talent is focused at and is on fedor what will happen when fedor decides to leave is the question

I see elite roster going to ufc of jake shields, Frank shamrock if he will put his hate for dana aside, cung le which would be good for ufc, kimbo for a one fight deal to show he can't hang probally against chuck since chuck has been calling him out, nick diaz just to put him back on the map, thats about it... cant think of any more notable fighters they would consider, Gina but they dont want girl mma
