Big brawling heavyweights Junior dos Santos (9-1) and Gabriel Gonzaga (11-4) will likely fight at UFC 108 on January 2nd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Nothing is signed, but a verbal agreement is in place for the fight.

Dos Santos is coming off a impressive win over Mirko Cro Cop at UFC 103 “Franklin vs Belfot”. The Brazilian striker has made a quick name for himself in the UFC by racking up wins over Fabricio Werdum, Stefan Struve and Mirko Cro Cop.

Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga made quick work of UFC newcomer Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 102 “Couture vs Nogueria”. The win tainted, as a low blow by Gonzaga hurt Tuchscherer, who seemed to never fully recover.

that'll be a good match up. In my opinion they are throwing Dos Santos in the fire to much. to the point where if he loses it'll be a big set back. But who knows what the future holds.

no i dont think theyre throwing dos santos into the fire much at all, the fight with werdum was to see what he was made of, struve is very young and cro cop is a has been, he came into the ufc with a good resume, this fight with gonzaga will be another good test, remember dos santos beat werdum, and werdum tko'd gonzaga

twice. I agree. But who's gonna be next for Santos if he wins. and every time Gonzaga beats newcomers or non contenders he's put in against an upincomer and loses and that sets hims back down the latter a great deal.

the more I like it! This is a NO HYPE match....no strange side stories just two good fighters going to bang it out to move up the ladder! Both are real heavyweights, big strong athletic skilled guys. Not some over weight 5'11 guy or a tortoise 6'7 guy. Kudos UFC.
