I like Fedor but if he wants to be considered one of the best then he needs to fight the best! The best are in the UFC hands down! If you look at even the top guys he fought and beat in Pride,Nogueria,Crocop,Wanderlei,Coleman, none of them have faired well against top UFC competition! Hes only beat a pathetic washed up Tim Sylvia, and Arlovski in the last few years!

he is a joke

Fedor is too scared to ruin his record by fighting the best. That is why he will not sign with the UFC.Who needs that type of fighter in the octagon anyways?

what have i been alleging all along...fedor and m1 in my guesses are tied to the russian mob...i suspect its not about a contract...its about co-promotion so that money can get laundered...im a lawyer and have seen my fair share of crime syndicates...this one is so suspicious...

Shows his true colours

This shows you how Dana white really is more than anything else. Not only is he really quick to call someone the greatest heavyweight of all time (Brock Lesnar). But he is also a disrespectful person. People like Tito and Randy have both had their share or issues with him and probably for a reason.

To call Fedor Emelianenko a joke is an insult to whom he have beaten and how he has done it. Coleman, Sylvia, Arlovski, Minitauro, Mark Hunt, Randleman Cro-Cop, Semmy Schilt, Heath Herring. All in their prime and all big BIG names.

Fedor is not only a true sportsman, he is humble generous and respectful. Has it ever occured to any of you that he might not fight in the UFC because of it's superstar mentality and because of the money? Maybe he turned down the offer simply because he wouldn't like working for the company. It's called integrity and while it may suck that we probably never will see Fedor in the UFC we have to respect his decision and trust his judgement.

And in honesty it's not like superstars has turned down huge offers in past history. Sting from Wrestling has refused to go to the WWE in his entire career.

Gotta agree.

I am officially no longer a Fedor fan. I appreciate how good a fighter he is, but he turned down (What sounds like) a considerably good deal to fight washed up fighters in Strikeforce. Fedor seems far too biased towards having an unbeaten record (aside from that one avenged loss) and not enough with challenging himself in a higher class of fighters. Good job telling it how it is Dana.

good strikeforce needs to get bigger as do allll other MMA orgs that do co-promotions this is not about crime they are trying to make mma like boxing, multiple belts for 1 true champion not an over-hyped in house organization.

Aleister overeem, brett "the grim" rogers, gegard mousasi, babalu, cung le, just to name a few, a few that could easily whip a** in the ufc, cmon dana your not gonna be the only show in town anymore now that fedor has a home. the game is not about money...

the issue is not with signing fedor it is convincing his manager to ditch the whole co-promoting thing. fedor still has a contract with 3 fights left with his manager. once that is up you will see fedor in the ufc.

3 more fights then he'll be in UFC
written by diegobetanzo, August 03, 2009
from what i understand, fedor's got a few fights left in his deal with M1 and these fights have a co-promotion clause attached to them - UFC doesn't have any interest in co-promotion and M1 doesn't have any interest in letting Fedor leave his contract or fight outside of a co-promoted event...i reckon after 3 fights in strikeforce fedor will come begging back to dana...

No offense, but some of the fighters in strike force. nick Diaz, Robbie lawler, Benji Radic, Scott Smith, Joe Riggs, Phil Baroni, Arlovski. These guys fought in the ufc and lost here and there. I think Nick Diaz should sign back. but that's just me. I think Fedor should've signed because owning the belt would have solidified him as the best heavy weight. A belt in some of the biggest orginazations, pride affliction, I'm sure there's more but the ufc tittle would've been great. Anderson Silva has been every where and won tittles almost every where, cage rage, rumble on the rock, soprt fight. so imagine fedor winning the grand prix tittle, pride tittle, wamma tittle, ufc tittle. then people can make the arguement of him as the best heavy weight ever.

I don't think people understand that Fedor didn't turn down the contract because he didn't want to fight in the UFC. He has stated in countless interviews that he wants to fight the best fighters in the world, which are obviously in the UFC. I am sure Fedor wasn't the one who told Dana no, it was M1. Fedor nuts are owned by M1 and they(M1) wouldn't sign the contract because the UFC wouldn't co-promote with them. Fedor can't make his own decisions.

Dana Offered him a $30 million 6 fight deal, an instant title shot, and offered M1 a cut of the PPV money. If fedor had it his way he would have accepted it not because of the money but because he wouldn't be able to prove that he is the best heavyweight and pound for pound fighter by the end of the year. That is something he probably would want more than anything.

All I have to say the culprit is M1 and their greed. Not sure what part Fedor has in this, but I hope the three fight thing comes through.

I really like Nick and Nate, but there is definately some unresolved issues between Nick and the UFC. They wouldnt even give him credentials to corner Nate once I believe.

It sucks but for strike force and M-1 global is a good fit
helps both from going under which Fedor is a part off but for all who said Fedor fights cause he loves it and its not about the money.. He just put his money in as partenership not on who he could fight and now he gets to choose...I mean lets face it if hes doughting himself and happen to loose in ufc what would be said... now he doesnt have to worry about it now...think he was scared of loosing his lagacy what a shame..the way most saw him was as a laid back warrior...what a let down...

UFC has a better longterm strategy
written by Nickyd, August 05, 2009
I think M1s strategy of piggy backing off the success of 1 fighter will ultimately bite them in the butt.

I agree
written by emanuscriptgraphics.com, August 08, 2009
Maybe Dana's comments may have a slight bit of bias in them, but this shows that Fedor was scared to lose his "recognition" as the best heavyweight in the world. Even if there is no money difference involved the talent level is so much better in the UFC. Why not accept a challenge Fedor?
