to start off i like both fighters. But to watch this match neither of them fought like they wanted it at all!!! the first round was a headbutt and a blow to the back of the head so that so hughes getting knocked down was discounted from the fight, ya serra got a few hits in... so did hughes he just got him with his take down there was no control of the octogon with either of them. Now the second round he didnt rest lol hughes went from back control back to standing up back to side control with a few hits then to guard then half guard and they were both hitting eachother serra didnt even try to do anything submission wise nor sweeps to get himself on top what so ever in that round hughes controled what was going on in that fight for round 2 and if you think that he was resting just cuz he was on top lol then you got anothing thing coming man. Now round 3 again hughes ran the board with the take downs and controling him, now at least serra did something while he was down there this time... but hughes controled the round all the way up untill the last 55 seconds and sorry to say it but that wont get you a win unless you tap him out or knock him out and he didnt he just got him to the ground and controled him and hughes still got up, so no I would have givin the match to hughes not saying he deserved it cuz its true he didnt fight at all like a champ!! they both sucked and I feel they could have done better and I know for a fact there feeling the same damn thing. And now for the fights with either thiago alves, jon fitch or GSP he wont fight them (not cuz they will f**k him up) maybe thiago alves! lol but.... cuz we all know that after this fight he will retire well if he is smart. All in all hughes took that match and they were BOTH LAZY about it.

What a lame fight, Hughes is washed up and by no means should he be proud of a victory like this.

Matt Hughes won that fight due to a few take downs and laying on Serra. Serra actually controlled Hughes while on his back. UFC proves once again that there judges are a bunch of idiots. If nothing else this fight was a draw. Hughes is done, who the hell wants to see his boring ass fight again.

Hughes dryhumping someone for 5 minutes does not equal a win!Serra way dominate on his feet and was working submissions from the bottom the whole time! Hughes few little taps to the solarplexes does not f**kin win him the fight! Bad decision!

Have some respect, hughes gave us years of great fights as a champ. Sure he's done but those of you who talk s**t are turncoats

wow it was actually a good fight and you guys are crying just cuz serra lost. Huges dint evin know he got knocked down by the head butt and recoverd well how can you not give him credit.

ya so it wasn't an action packed fight. so what? Hughs was the more technical fighter. You win these fights however you can, whether it's by a flying knee KO or a judges decision where you control most of the fight. A win is a win. All of you that say it was boring, just expected more because it was such a grudge match. I'm just happy one of my fighters finally won. haven't been doing so well in that department, BJ, Chuck etc.
