Machida landed more punches not all of them landed but some did, and Lyoto had good punch-kick combonations . Shogun was aggressive and landed way more kicks. I personally think the aggressiveness of Rua won him the fight, but you can make the argument that Lyoto won, but not unanimously. Shogun took rounds away from Lyoto and if anyone read my blog that i had wrote before this fight was annouced then you can see Shogun saw the same holes I saw. I thought the first round was very close,like all of them were, but machida deserved it because of the first few second of the fight. He fed Shogun like 4 knees to the body in the clinch and the rest of the round was close but the knees had to be the difference. The other and last point,if I may, is that everybody keeps talking about Shogun' body/leg kicks ,which were great and did damage, But there few times that he threw that kick and didn't eat counter straight right hand to the face. They weren't huge shots but they were still points.
