Machida vs Evans: My Perspective

Machida vs Evans was an excellent fight.

Here's my look on why one of these fighters left undefeated and how hopefully someone should approach the winner in the futrue.

This was the most agressive we've seen Machida. He did what Rampage Jackson did to Chuck Liddell the second time they fought. Machida moved foreward  to force Rashad to react first and he beat him down. Rashad did have those two right hands, but like I said before it looks like he threw them to throw them, not with any purpose.  Lyoto did the right  thing in cutting him off and he figured out his timing. Great job Lyoto Machida.

How to beat Machida, it can be done. You see how he leans back so his face isn't exposed? There's a way to look around that. If a well accomplished striker like Rampage could move foreward and force him to lean back, go for his lower body. Body shots in combonations would be definitive and add up. Plus Tito had some success throwing leg kicks, he didn't throw them alot, but they did land.  He's  only very elusive because everyone he's fought made the mistake in trying to rush a knockout win over him. That's why his face rarely gets hit. Never forget body shots and leg kicks do great, people have been stoped by them. In order to get to his body you have to get past that fancy wide foot work. If Rampgae could faint and mix in leg kicks, that'll open up head strikes. You can't loop punches at him that's when he'll leap in and out and counter. Lead hooks and straight punches will force him to move back, when moving back you can't defend kicks, so if you miss the punches tie in body kick and low kick. If someone adds that to his game plan, we could see Machida lose.
